Activity 1: Search for Articles
Tap on the search bar in the middle of the screen.
Search using search terms related to the artist, such as the artist name, song name, and album name, similarly to how you would search on Google. You can also try the Korean versions of names to try to find different results (ex. 아르테미스 for ARTMS, 루셈블 for Loossemble, 츄 for Chuu, 이브 for Yves).
At the top of the screen, just below the search bar (after you have conducted a search), tap "뉴스."
Activity 2: React to Articles
Look for an article that is about the artist, song, and/or album and open it.
Tap on the globe to the right of the screen, below the header of the article. Then, tap 영어. This will automatically translate the article using Papago [Note: Not all articles have this option.]
Remember that machine translations are often inaccurate and often misrepresent tone, nuance, and implication. Unless the article has been translated by a native speaker or trusted translator (ex. Team Subbits), take anything out of the ordinary you may read with a grain of salt.
Once you have read the article, scroll down to the row of emojis. Tap on the emoji that best represents how you feel about the article. [Note: Not all articles have this option.]
If there are SIX emojis, in order from left to right, these emojis mean: "I like this," "I'm rooting for you," "Congratulations," "I'm looking forward to it," "I was surprised," and "I am sad."
If there are FIVE emojis, in order from left to right, these emojis mean: "Informative," "Interesting," "I agree," "Excellent analysis," and "I want a follow-up."
If there are NO emojis, just skip this step.
After you have reacted, select the white button that reads "이 기사를 추천합니다." This means that you recommend this article. [Note: Not all articles have this option.]
The number of recommendations made in a certain period is calculated by NAVER and used arrange where articles are arranged on various pages. For example, if an artist gets a lot of recommendations on their articles, articles about them may be more likely to be placed higher in K-Pop related searches.
Note: if it took you a while to read the article, you may need to refresh the page before you can recommend the article.
Share the article on social media by tapping the share button.
You can choose to share directly to Twitter, Facebook, Line, or various NAVER services, or you can copy the article link to share it anywhere you'd like!
